The future writer and traveler - Elena Petrovna Gan (maiden name) - was born in Yekaterinoslav (now Dnepropetrovsk) on August 12, 1831. The aristocratic genetics of this amazing person included German, French and Russian roots. From childhood, the girl showed a special interest in everything magical and mystical. Until the age of fifteen, she read more than one hundred books on this topic in her grandfather's library.
At the age of 17 and after a short-term marriage with her elderly husband Nikifor Blavatsky, Helena begins her epic exploit as a traveler, during which she visited many countries: India, China, Egypt, Greece, Japan, Ceylon, England and many others. All of her creative projects related to long-distance travel were financed by her father, with whom Blavatsky had a constant relationship.
It was in London that Elena Petrovna met with her spiritual mentor - Teacher Mahatma Moriy. This Hindu, initiated into many sacred mysteries, came to the future occultist in dreams even as a child. By the way, many historians consider this fact to be a figment of the writer's fantasy.
In 1868, a thirty-seven-year-old woman visited Tibet, where she met for five years with local lamas and engaged in mystical practices, achieving spiritual perfection. And in 1873 he went to the USA, where he met with Henry Olcott. It is with this retired military man and journalist from New York that she will be associated for the rest of her life. With him, she also opens the Theosophical Society, whose task was to found a kind of hybrid branch of knowledge, synthesizing scientific, religious and philosophical research, in order to reveal the supernatural abilities of man. At this time, a talented woman began to write her imperishable works.
In 1884, Blavatsky made her last trip to India and the East, where she severely undermined her health. In 1888, in London, she published the main work of her entire life - a philosophical and religious treatise with the mystical title "The Secret Doctrine". Immediately after this event, great fame fell on Elena Petrovna, which she could no longer fully enjoy due to a serious illness.
The famous writer died of the flu on May 8, 1891, and her cremation ashes were laid to rest in three parts of the world: London, New York and Madras.
