Childhood, adolescence

Lyubov Belykh was born in 1961 in Kostroma. She was born into a family of artists Nadezhda and Alexei Belykh. From childhood, the girl was used to looking at the beautiful, noticing the beauty in what surrounded her. She watched her parents paint. The elder sister Vera played musical instruments. She was a professional musician. Lyuba's parents never tried to influence her life choices. Belykh admitted that her father even discouraged her from choosing the profession of an artist. He wanted his daughter to receive a good education, and painting would be just a hobby for her. Only after the mother and father saw that their daughter had extraordinary abilities, they allowed her to attend art school.

From 1974 to 1979, Lyubov Belykh studied at the Moscow Secondary Art School at the Moscow State Art Institute named after V. I. Surikov. She graduated from it successfully and the teachers noticed at that time that the girl had talent. After school, Lyubov left for St. Petersburg, which was then called Leningrad. She passed the entrance exams to the institute very successfully, having received the highest score. It should be noted that such an assessment is very rare. Teachers put it only in exceptional cases. From 1980 to 1986, Lyubov studied at the Leningrad Institute. IE Repin, in the studio of monumental painting. During her studies, Belykh showed herself to be a talented and very creative person. Studying at the workshop of monumental painting was prestigious. In addition to working in the main direction, students studied various materials, made architectural drawings for sketches of compositions, performed fragments of these compositions in materials. Belykh painted unusually beautiful pictures and in 1980 her first solo exhibition took place. Most of the works were written in 1979 during a joint trip with his father to an academic dacha in the Tver region. Lyubov painted portraits, genre scenes, still lifes, so the first solo exhibition turned out to be very diverse.

Career

After graduating from the institute, Lyubov Belykh began to work actively. She worked in the creative workshops of the USSR Academy of Arts in Moscow. She also painted pictures at home. Since 1988, Lyubov has become a member of the Union of Photographers of the USSR. The early works of the Belykh reflect the impressions of travels to France, Italy, and the island of Crete. In an interview, Lyubov admitted that inspiration visits her when she recalls her childhood, youth. Images of those years appear in front of her and she wants to create, reproduce genre pictures on canvas. Inspiration usually arises suddenly, drawing you into work on the picture, in the search for new compositional solutions, plastic forms, and colors.

Lyubov Belykh is an unusually modest and even private person. The beginning of her creative career fell on a very difficult time. During the years of perestroika, there were almost no state orders for artists. Many of them went into commerce. But Lyubov Belykh did not take the path of indulging the not always good taste of the general public, did not paint pictures to order, which was widespread at that time. She concentrated on creative work and this decision turned out to be correct. Today Lyubov Belykh is a recognized master of portrait, landscape, genre painting.

All Belykh's landscape works are imbued with love for nature. And this is not a contrived feeling, but the artist's true admiration for the greatness of nature. In her portrait works, Lyubov Alekseevna always strives to reveal the character of the person depicted on the canvas. And she does it very well. Genre paintings dedicated to the theme of childhood are permeated with warmth and love. All works bear the signs of the author's high taste, the desire for individual creativity.

In his paintings, Belykh often depicts children and adolescents with a guitar. As a child, she was fond of music, her sister played the piano and other instruments beautifully, so this topic is very close to her. Lyubov Alekseevna believes that the guitar is not only a sonorous, but also an unusually beautiful instrument that can harmoniously fit into any frame.
