Chris Isaac (Chris Isaac) is an American singer-songwriter, actor. The catchy 50s style, beautiful voice and nostalgic songs have become his trademark.
Biography
Chris Isaac was born in Stockton, California on June 26, 1956. His parents adored country and rock and roll, collected CDs from pop stars of the 40s and listened to them for hours. From a very young age, thanks to his family, Chris was immersed in the atmosphere of music. With a beautiful voice and guitar playing, he made up for an unprepossessing appearance in his school years. In high school, he became interested in boxing and even won prizes in competitions. Boxing helped him grow from an insecure young man into a charismatic young man. Therefore, while studying at the university, he took an active part in the creation of the rock band "Silvertone". The musicians gave out the perfect sound of all instruments. The guitar part was accompanied by a light glissando, which gave the music a hypnotic effect. The high-quality arrangement allowed the instruments to sound harmoniously and organically, to complement each other. In addition, the group included the most complex ballads in the repertoire thanks to Chris's vocal abilities. Therefore, the parents were not at all surprised when, after graduating from Stockston University in 1980, the son put his diploma on the table and never returned to it.
Creation
After graduating from university and receiving unnecessary education, Chris and his friends continued to work in the group. And in 1985, with the assistance of the famous producer of the late 60s, Eric Jacobsen, they recorded their first album. Critics took the group's album positively, although they accused of imitating Chris's singing style on Roy Orbison. A few years later, the band released their second studio album, "Chris Isaak". All tracks were in a romantic style, shrouded in melancholy. The album hit the Billboard 200 at number 194, and the song "Blue Hotel" became a hit on the record.
In 1989, the band's third album, Heart Shaped World, was released. In May 1996, the album was awarded multi-platinum status by the RIAA for over 2,000,000 copies sold.
But back in 1989, Heart Shaped World failed to rise above 149th place in the United States. In this regard, Warner Bros. Records stopped working with the musician. Help for Chris came in the form of filmmaker David Lynch. He included the song "Wicked Game" on the soundtrack of his film "Wild at Heart".
Universal recognition for Chris came in 1991. He reissued his 1989 album Wicked Game, which sold out not only in the US, but also in England. It was decided to reissue all previous albums according to the same scheme. And strangely enough, it worked in the musician's favor. Chris Isaac received the International Rock and Roll Music Award for Best Vocalist of the Year, and the video for "Wicked Game" was voted Best Video of the Year. After such success, Chris Isaac did not need additional success, his fans were waiting for his albums.
In total, the musician's discography includes 11 albums released from 1985 to 2011.
In addition to his musical career, Chris Isaac tried himself as an actor. He starred in such cult films as: "Silence of the Lambs", "Twin Peaks". In total, he was involved in 10 films.
But since participation in the filming process took a lot of time and effort, Chris Isaac decided to refuse further offers. He returned to his main recognition - to be a singer and composer.
