Roman Adamov is a Russian footballer who played as a striker. During his long career, the player defended the colors of clubs in the domestic championships of three countries: Russia, Ukraine and the Czech Republic. At the end of his career, Adamov continued to work in a coaching role.
Roman Adamov is a native of the Rostov region. The future footballer was born in the small town of Belaya Kalitva on June 21, 1982. During the Soviet Union, there was no entertainment for children that is available in modern times. Therefore, many boys spent hours on the street playing various sports games. Roman, along with his friends, loved to play the ball in the yard, the children organized various tournaments among themselves.
Youth teams Adamov
At the age of seven, Roman Adamov took up football in the sports section of the team from Belaya Kalitva. He played for the children's club of the same name, as well as at the Nika Children's Youth Sports School (Krasny Sulin). Later, the young man moved to the Youth Sports School-11 "Volgograd", and from there he moved to the Volgograd team "Olympia". At Olimpia, Roman Adamov met coach Leonid Slutsky (the future famous coach of CSKA and the Russian national team), who contributed to the development of football talent in the young guy.
Club career
Having received his first football education in youth clubs of the Rostov region, Roman Adamov defended the colors of Olimpia in the 1999-2000 season, which played in the lower divisions of the country's championship. He played 17 matches for this team and scored six goals. The talent of the seventeen-year-old guy was quickly noticed by sports scouts of clubs from Russia and the countries of the former CIS. In 2000, the up-and-coming forward received an offer to watch in one of the strongest clubs in Ukraine - Shakhtar Donetsk. Adamov failed to play in the main team of the miners. Therefore, he spent the 2000 season in a double, where he took part in 12 matches. At Shakhtar-2, Roman Adamov scored one goal.
After the Donetsk club, the biography of Roman Adamov was mostly associated with Russia. In 2011, at the age of 18, the player made his debut in Rostselmash (the team now known as Rostov). He performed at the club until 2004. Work on the field and in the training process allowed Adamov to gain a foothold in the first team. True, the striker's performance remained at an average level - in 62 meetings, Adamov hit the opponent's goal only 11 times.
In the 2004-2005 season, Adamov moved to Terek Grozny, in which he managed to become the top scorer, as evidenced by nine goals scored in thirty matches played. However, the footballer became widely known in another team.
In December 2005, the forward played for the Premier League club FC "Moscow". This team revealed his forward talent. Already in his second season for the club, he scored 16 goals in 35 matches. This performance allowed Adamov to share the laurels of the top scorer of the Russian Premier League with the striker of the "red-white" Roman Pavlyuchenko. All in all, Adamov played 63 matches for Moscow, in which he scored 24 goals.
Several well-known Russian clubs appear in the forward's career. Among them are "Rubin" (in which the striker spent four seasons since 2008), Samara "Wings of the Soviets". In "wings" Adamov was loaned out in 2009, as his game began to decline in the composition of Kazan. The Kazan club laid out a fairly large sum for the striker in the amount of 4.5 million euros, which indicated the hope of acquiring a top-level striker in the person of the striker. However, this did not fully happen. Adamov played less than thirty matches in Rubin, was able to score goals only three times. It is noteworthy that on loan in Samara's Krylya, Adamov scored even more - 5 times in 14 matches.
After Adamov failed to win the title of top striker in Russia, Roman went to play in the Czech Republic. The second foreign club after Shakhtar in his career was Viktoria from Pilsen. But the striker spent only one 2012-2013 season in it. I rarely went to the field. He played only six matches, in which he was able to hit the opponent's goal only once.
The last club in Adamov's playing career was the Novosibirsk "Siberia".
Adamov's career in the Russian national team
The most favorable period in a player's career can be considered his performance for Moscow. The creativity shown by him in different game situations attracted the attention of the coaching staff of the Russian national team. On March 26, 2008, Roman Adamov took part in his debut match in the national team jersey. The rival was the Romanian national team. It was a friendly meeting in preparation for the upcoming EURO 2008.
For the main European tournament for national teams, Adam was included in the application. He even took to the field once. It happened in the first match of the group stage against the Spanish national team. Coming as a substitute in the 70th minute of the meeting, the striker did not show anything remarkable, and the national team lost with a score of 1: 4. Despite such a disastrous result in the first match, the Russians still managed to achieve success in the tournament, which allowed Roman Adamov to receive the bronze medal of that championship. Thanks to this success of the national team, Roman Adamov, as a member of the team, received the title of Honored Master of Sports of Russia.
In 2017, Adamov joined the coaching staff of the Rostov club and watched young footballers from the children's school, youth and junior teams.
Roman Adamov is married. His wife's name is Irina. In 2008, the couple had a daughter. As the striker admitted, he chose the name for her himself. The girl's name is Eva.
