Biography

The future musician was born in June 1959 on the twenty-second in the Russian city of Chelyabinsk. In Soviet times, children were usually enrolled in sports sections, but little Yuri had no particular desire to play sports. But he had a musical talent, easily mastered musical notation and enjoyed playing musical instruments. At the age of eight, he began to master the cello, and at twelve he began to play the guitar.

When Garin was getting his education, he began to write his first songs. At first, he sang them only in a narrow circle, to friends and relatives. But after graduating from school, he joined the rock group "McLean", where he used his repertoire. The young team was awarded the prestigious prize of the All-Union Competition of Rock Performers.

Despite such success, Garin did not have a special love for heavy music and once, he attended the Ilmen festival of bards, after which he left the group and made a sharp turn to the genre of author's song with a guitar.
