Starting conditions

Three years later, he was appointed commander of a combat minesweeper. In 1990, Sergei Ivanovich was elected a deputy of the Murmansk Regional Council. In 1995 Menyailo graduated from the Naval Academy. After that, he was appointed commander of a brigade of ships in the Caspian Flotilla. In 2002, he graduated from the courses of the Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and was appointed to the post of commander of the naval base in Novorossiysk. Then he was transferred to the city of sea glory Sevastopol. The “color revolution” in Ukraine pushed the process of annexing Crimea to Russia. In the fall of 2014, Sergei Menyailo was elected mayor of Sevastopol.

The initiative and creativity of Sergei Ivanovich were adequately assessed by the Government of the Russian Federation. In the summer of 2016, Menyailo was appointed Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Siberian Federal District.
