Biography and career of Nani Georgievna Bregvadze
On July 21, 1936, a future pop star was born in a famous creative family, where they loved to sing and dance, in Tbilisi (Georgia). It is noteworthy that the name "Nani" in Georgia, and indeed in the world in general, simply does not exist. The People's Artist of the USSR herself considers it to be a derivative of "Nina" and is very proud of this kind of manifestation of the love of her father, who named her him.
Due to the fact that the situation in the family very much resembled a constant holiday, Nani began to sing at the same time as she learned to speak. Therefore, her creative career was predetermined from childhood. Bregvadze began to acquire professional skills at a music school, and then at a music college. And already at the age of twenty-one, she won the main prize with the song “I Put Out the Candle”, sung at the World Youth Festival (World Youth Festival) in 1957. Then Leonid Utesov drew attention to her, giving her a very positive parting words in her work.
In 1963, Nani Bregvadze graduated from the conservatory and, already as a graduate, began to conquer new heights of the Soviet stage. In the "eighties" Bregvadze decided to continue her professional career as a solo performer. At first, she performed with a repertoire filled with songs of her predecessors. However, very soon the whole country recognized her own songs. The name plates were released in huge numbers, which were instantly sold out by grateful fans.
And already in the "nineties" Nani Georgievna began to increasingly act as a member of the commission at all kinds of thematic competitions. In this role, she did a lot for the development of young talents, placing special emphasis, of course, on Georgian performers. For this, in 2000, she was given a "memory star" in Georgia.
In addition, the famous singer has several years in her creative career, when she was engaged in teaching at the capital's university (head of the department). And in 2005, Bregvadze recorded her first album with musical compositions that were not included in previously released gramophone records.
Unfortunately for many Russian fans of the work of the Georgian performer, in 2008 a crisis broke out in Russian-Georgian relations, and therefore Nani Bregvadze stopped visiting Russia with concert programs.
In 2015, she attended the TV project "Alone with Everyone" by Yulia Menshova, and the next year she became a guest of Vladimir Pozner's program. Many fans of Nani Bregvadze will remember the concert for a long time, where she, as part of a quartet of Georgian vocalists, together with Vakhtang Kikabidze, Valery Meladze and Tamara Gverdtsiteli, appeared on the stage of the concert hall.
Personal life of the artist
Behind the shoulders of the family life of the titled performer of romances, there is a single marriage with Merab Mamaladze and daughter Ekaterina (Eka), who was born in 1960. In this marriage, the family idyll did not work out due to constant quarrels and scandals based on the husband's jealousy. Therefore, the marriage was doomed. In addition, Merab, due to his adventurous nature, was caught with a financial scam and ended up in prison.
Of course, the wife could not stand aside and, using all her authority, contributed to the early return of her husband to freedom. However, this episode of life not only did not unite the family, but, on the contrary, embittered the spouse, who left for another woman.
Despite the unsuccessful experience of marriage, Nani Georgievna today is happy surrounded by her daughter's family, where she already has three grandchildren.
