In Moscow, Emmanuel Vitorgan could not enter any acting university, but in the Northern capital he was much more fortunate, and opened the doors of LGITMiK to the applicant. In 1977, the actor began to be invited to the filming. He starred in the film And It's All About Him, playing the role of a criminal. The image of dark personalities, including secret agents, spies, as well as high-ranking military personnel, suited Vitorgan very much, therefore it became one of the key ones for him. He perfectly coped with his role in the films "Emissary of the Foreign Center" and "Profession - Investigator", "Battle for Moscow" and "Anna Karamazoff". The films "Sorcerers" and "Good weather on Deribasovskaya …" became very memorable.

For a long time Vitorgan and Balter have personified one of the most beautiful and strong star couples in Russia.

Over time, the beloved wife of Emmanuel Gedeonovich fell ill and died. It was during this period that the actor almost disappeared from the stage, struggling with depression.
