Biography
Ville Haapasalo is of Finnish descent and was born in Lahti in 1972. All his childhood years he was an ordinary boy who was fond of sports like most of the inhabitants of Finland. Closer to graduation, he became seriously interested in theater and even decided to study acting in England. But the young man never got to his destination: acquaintances convinced him that there is also a strong acting school in neighboring Russia, and it would be easier for him there.
The future actor came to Leningrad and entered the local theater institute. The audition took place in his native language, and yet the commission liked it. But studying turned out to be a serious test for Ville: he spent a lot of time studying the Russian language, and also tried to be as diligent as possible a student.
Once the director Alexander Rogozhgin, who was looking for a candidate for the role of a foreigner in his comedy "Peculiarities of the National Hunt", became interested in a native of Finland. Ville Haapasalo perfectly fit into this image, and after the film was released in 1995, he became so popular in Russia that, unable to cope with fame, he even left for his homeland. He did not stay in Lahti for long: the same Rogozhkin invited him to shoot his new films - "Peculiarities of National Fishing", "Operation" Happy New Year "and" Cuckoo ".
Subsequently, Ville Haapasalo actually lived in two countries, starring in various films and TV projects, but for a long time he did not have high-profile roles. Only in 2009, the "Russian Fin" regained its former fame, playing in the comedy Marius Weisberg "Love in the Big City". The film was so popular that it got two sequels. Personal life
Ville Haapasalo got married for the first time after receiving an acting education. Returning to Finland for a short time, he met his future wife Sarah Hedland. In marriage, they had three children. Later, the actor had to divorce because of an outbreak of romance with Russian director Tina Barkalaya, during which his fourth child was born. But the actor never legalized the relationship, although he claims that he hopes for this in the near future.
