Director Oksana Bayrak often advocates women's destinies in her films. And her own life is proof that a woman can be talented, strong and independent.
Female director
Oksana Bayrak's films and series are always about love. Moreover, this is not an ordinary soap opera, but a movie with meaning. Where there are no "flat" heroes, where the plot is taken from life, and the ending is so different. Bayrak is not afraid to tackle difficult topics. Her famous film "Aurora" about the events in Chernobyl, filmed in 2006, was nominated for an Oscar. And although he did not receive the most important award, he was noticed and the picture received a high rating. But in Ukraine, the film was recognized as one of the best, and showed good fees.
Oksana Bayrak shoots her films mainly in Ukraine. She was born in February 1964 in Simferopol. After graduating from school in her hometown, she moved to study in Kiev at the Pedagogical University. After graduating from the university and receiving a speech therapist diploma, Oksana worked for several years in her specialty at school.
But so many ideas were ripening in her head that, to implement them, she abandons her usual life and becomes a student at the Karpenko-Kary Institute of Theater Arts, which has produced so many famous Ukrainian actors. That's just Oksana enters the directing department for the course of Serebrenikov and Marchenko. Bayrak shoots his first film while still a student. At the same time, he decides to go into independent filmmaking and founds his own film company - “Studio Bayrak”. Over time, Oksana Bayrak's film company becomes the largest in Ukraine. In total, the director had to shoot more than 25 films. For most of the films, she wrote the scripts herself. The most famous are: "For you, for the present", "Women's intuition", "Late repentance" and others.
Love and cinema
In the wake of success, Oksana decides to try herself as a TV presenter. For three years she was the host of the Let's Get Married program on Ukrainian television and the author's project Sentimental Ballads of Serious Men. After the tragic events in Ukraine, Bayrak had to temporarily move to Russia because of his negative views on the events of the "Maidan". But in Russia the director turned out to be in demand. On the channel "TV-center" her author's program "Frankly" began to appear. And after the "warming" of the situation in Ukraine, the director began filming the next series.
From the outside, it may seem that Oksana's personal life is as interesting and stormy as work. She lived with her first husband Alexander Kopeikin, whom she had known since her student years, for ten years. Oksana did not enter into official relations anymore. At the same time, she is constantly credited with novels with actors that she starred in. For the last couple of years, Bayrak can be seen accompanied by a young man - a fitness trainer and a model, 20 years younger than her. Well, an interesting free woman (Oksana has no children) can afford such a relationship.
