Biography

David's birthday is September 4, 1980. Born and lived until the age of seven in Aachen, West Germany. Father Georg Bongartz, German by birth, worked in the jurisdiction. An American mother, Dove Garrett, was the leading ballerina of the local theater. When David stepped onto the big stage, he decided that his mother's surname sounds better and is remembered better, and he took the pseudonym David Garrett.

The Bongart family had three children. The father wanted his eldest son to study music and bought him a violin. David was then only four years old. At this age, no one expected any serious hobbies from him. David liked his brother's violin. In a year he learned to play so well that in 1985, at the age of five, David won a music competition. So it turned out that a child prodigy and a genius musician-nugget is growing in the Bongart family.

At the age of seven, David entered the Lübeck Conservatory. From that moment on, Professor Zakhar Bron taught him to play the violin. They did not send the boy to a general education school - tutors were hired for the child in all subjects, who taught him individually.

Education and career

In 1989, Garrett performs at the Classical Music Festival. And this was his first performance on the big stage. In 1992, the violinist Ida Handel met him - this is how an excellent sounding duet was formed. Handel lived in London, and the prodigy had to travel frequently to England.

Five years later, in 1997, David becomes a student at the Royal College of Music. During this time, he continued to perform a lot. Various styles were intertwined in the work of the famous musician - he effortlessly combined classical music with rock, jazz or country. The young violinist became popular not only among classical lovers, but also among young people, lovers of modern musical styles.

After studying for a year, Garrett was expelled from King's College. Teachers demanded attendance at classes and strict adherence to instructions. Garrett believed that music should be done more than studied. In 1999, the violinist moved to New York and entered the Juilliard School. While studying at school, he composed music and participated in composer competitions.

In 2007 David Garrett recorded his first album. His musical productivity has led to the release of over a dozen studio albums.
