Sonam Kapoor was born on June 9, 1985 in Chembour. Her father is Anil Kapoor, a leading actor in 1980s Bollywood. The mother of the actress is the former model Sunita Kapoor. The entire Sonam family is somehow connected with Indian cinema. Her grandfather, Surinder Kapoor, is a producer, and her uncles, Sanjay Kapoor, Boney Kapoor and Sandeep Marwah, are actors and producers. Sonam has a younger sister, Reya, and a brother, Harshwandhan. Her cousins Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh also became actors.
