In the ranks of rock musicians, women are rare. Olga Kormukhina has achieved success thanks to her talent and dedication. She knew exactly how to behave on the stage so as not to fall into outsiders.
Childhood
There is an unwritten hierarchy among musicians. Rockers consider themselves to be more "advanced" than pop musicians. Olga Borisovna Kormukhina did not come to understand this kind of peculiarities right away. Moreover, at the moment when it was necessary to choose a profession, she clearly imagined her future life path. The girl was determined to get a serious specialty that would bring her a decent salary. And she also planned to start a family and have children. At the same time, she simply did not consider other components of success.
The future singer was born on June 1, 1960 in an ordinary Soviet family. Parents at that time lived in the famous city of Gorky. My father worked as an engineer at an automobile plant. Mother worked as the director of the Museum of Architecture. Olga already had an older brother, Andrei. A friendly atmosphere reigned in the house, conducive to creativity. The head of the family had a tenor of a rare timbre and in his free time he loved to perform classical romances and folk songs. My brother played the piano well. The girl took part in home concerts with great desire. She knew the words of all the songs that were sung by adults.
Creative activity
Olga studied well at school. Her favorite subjects were mathematics and literature. She spent all her free time at rehearsals and performances in an amateur ensemble. Having received a certificate of maturity, Kormukhina entered the Faculty of Architecture at the Gorky Civil Engineering Institute. After the second year, she realized that the chosen specialty did not interest her at all. In 1980 Olga performed at the All-Union Jazz-Rock Festival in Gorky. She performed and received the Grand Prix for the best solo performance. She immediately received several offers of cooperation.
At this moment, Kormukhina demonstrated her character and prudence. She stayed in her hometown and began performing regularly in restaurants. In 1983, the singer was invited to the famous jazz ensemble conducted by Oleg Lundstrem. Kormukhina moved to the capital and began to build her creative career. Simultaneously with concerts and tours, she received specialized education at the correspondence department of the Gnesins Institute. For several years she collaborated with the Rock Atelier group led by Chris Kelmi.
Recognition and privacy
Kormukhina's personal life turned out well, although not on the first try. The singer met her husband, the leader of the Gorky Park group, Alexei Belov, in a monastery on Lake Peipsi. In these places they were looking for salvation from everyday hardships. The decision to tie their fates came by itself.
In 2000, a daughter appeared in the family. Kormukhina continues to perform on stage and at the same time sings in the church choir.
