A biometric passport is a new generation passport containing a chip with basic information about the owner, which cannot be faked. It also differs from the old passport in terms of validity (10 years, not 5) and a large number of blank pages for visas. You can issue this document at the territorial division of the FMS at the place of residence or stay.
It is necessary
- - 2 copies of the application for the issuance of a biometric passport;
- - internal passport;
- - birth certificate and passports of both parents (when issuing a passport for a child);
- - receipt of payment of state duty;
- - 2 photos;
- - military ID (for men of draft age from 18 to 27 years old);
- - permission of the command to travel abroad (for career military personnel);
- - previously issued passport, if its validity period has not expired.
Instructions
Step 1
Take a certified copy of your work record book at work. It will come in handy for filling out information about work activity over the past 10 years in the application. You can download the application form on the websites of the FMS of Russia or any regional department of this department, or fill it out online on the portal of public services.
If all the data on work activity for the last 10 years does not fit in the space provided for them, print out a separate sheet with the information that did not fit and attach it to the application. In any case, include in the set of documents a copy of the work, certified at work. And if you have it in your hands, a simple copy and the original.
Step 2
You can download the receipt for payment of the state duty on the website of the regional FMS and make the payment at any branch of the Sberbank. Its size in 2011 is 2, 5 thousand rubles. for adults and 1, 2 thousand rubles. for children under 14 years old.
Photos will be taken for you in any photo studio. When applying for a passport, they are needed only for the FMS archive. Your card for the passport itself will be made directly at the unit when submitting documents.
Step 3
With a complete set of documents, contact your territorial FMS office during office hours. If everything is in order with them, you will receive a ready-made biometric passport in a month when you apply at the place of residence or four - when you stay.
