Instructions

Step 1

Determine if you or your relative, neighbor, etc., are eligible to receive free housing and care at government expense in a nursing home. According to Article 15 of the Law on Social Welfare of Citizens, Article 17 of the Model Regulations on Homes for the Elderly and Disabled Persons, persons of retirement age or persons with disabilities of the first and second groups over 18 years of age who are not able to serve themselves can be placed in a nursing home, in need of outside household help and medical care. At the same time, they should not have parents or children of working age who are obliged to provide assistance to their children (parents) in accordance with the law. Also, the state of health of an elderly person or a disabled person should not prevent living in a public place such as a nursing home.

Step 2

An application with a request to register in a nursing home must be submitted to the local department of social protection of the population. There you will also be given a list of necessary tests (for the absence of infectious diseases) and a referral for fluorography and vaccination against diphtheria. You will also need conclusions from a therapist, psychiatrist, dermatovenerologist, oncologist, for women - a gynecologist.

Step 3

After all the medical procedures and checks have been passed, and the sanitary and epidemiological station will seal the certificate that you have no infectious diseases, you will need to contact the housing office (house management) and the passport office in order to obtain certificates about the availability of housing and its type. Please note: if the housing is not privatized, and you live in it alone, it will remain with you only for six months from the date of settlement in a nursing home, in accordance with Article 12 of the Law on Social Services for Seniors and Disabled People. It will also be necessary to re-register the receipt of a pension to a new address.
