On the screen, viewers only see the actors. It's hard to imagine that there is a film crew and a bunch of cameras around them. The public is rarely eager to find out what happened behind the scenes. But if the film becomes super popular, people want to know everything about the filming process.

Instructions

Step 1

The sound engineer usually appears first on the set to set up the microphones and make sure that shadows from them do not enter the frame, check the noise level.

Step 2

Light fixtures appear next. They install cameras, they turn on all the equipment. Before the director can give the command "Motor!", The operator must also check the readiness of the camera.

Step 3

When the command "Motor!" sounded, the assistant director appears in the frame with a "clapperboard", on which in the process of filming they will write the number of the scene and its take each time, so that later it would be easier for the director to choose suitable frames from all the footage. When the operator turns on the camera (and it picks up the required speed), and the sound engineer turns on the tape recorder and makes sure that the sound is synchronized with the picture, the assistant director claps.

Step 4

If the clapperboard with the take and scene number is normally included in the frame, and the sound from it was clearly audible, the assistant directors are removed from the frame. The operator again checks that no objects or their shadows interfere with the shooting, checks the frame and focus, and then gives a signal to the director that everything is ready. Then the director gives the second command "Camera!"

Step 5

Actors or stuntmen play a scene, this may take a few seconds or minutes, until the director gives the command "Cut!" Then the operator stops the camera, and the sound technician stops the sound equipment.

Step 6

The editor places the most successful takes of each shot at the right moment in the movie, creating a single product. He deals with the synchronization of the image and sound, equalizes the color rendition. Today, unlike in the past, there is no need to develop the film and glue it piece by piece. Now films are digitized from film, and it happens that digital recording is immediately carried out.

Step 7

In addition to the film crew, the administrators and producers of the project carry out important work. Administrators choose locations for filming, obtain permits to work there, prepare the site, coordinate the work of different departments of the film studio. The producer, on the other hand, is in charge of the filming process, control over film production, control over accounting records and all financing issues.
