Biography
Zhana Trofimovna was born in Poltava (Ukraine) (1940-2011). The start in acting begins with the Leningrad City Palace of Pioneers, after the family moved to St. Petersburg (then Leningrad). Further studies at VGIK. There she meets Fedoseeva-Shukshina Lydia, Luzhina Larisa and Polskikh Galina. While still a student at VGIK, young Zhanna played a role for which, first of all, everyone remembers her. Shurochka from "The Ballad of a Soldier" by Grigory Chukhar is the first role of the actress. On August 1, 2011, the illness interrupted the life of the great actress. The grave of Zhanna Prokhorenko is located in Moscow. She spent the last days of her life with her relatives: daughter Catherine and granddaughter Maryana.

Filmography of the actress - 54 films from 1959 to 2010. For the first time the viewer saw Jeanne in "The Ballad of the Soldier". This is a film that has brought demand in the profession. Another equally significant role is “And if this is love” directed by Julius Raizman. There, the role of Ksyusha Zavyalova, a tenth grade student, was talentedly played. After the role in "The Marriage of Balzaminov" directed by Konstantin Voinov, famous works appeared in the films "An Invented Story" by Vladimir Gerasimov, "Kalina Krasnaya" by Vasily Shukshin. At the end of her life, the actress performed only cameo roles.
The merits of Zhanna Trofimovna have been recognized more than once by state awards:

- in 1988 receives the title of People's Actress of the RSFSR

Personal life
Zhanna Prokhorenko met her first husband, director Evgeny Vasiliev, while still a student at VGIK, but already a successful actress after her first role. In this marriage, the actress has a daughter, who later also becomes an artist. The family did not last long. After 2 years, the couple divorces. The second marriage was "civil" with the actor of Mosfilm Artur Makarov. The marriage was not officially registered. The wife of the actress was killed in the dashing 90s by robbers. After the death of her husband, Zhanna Prokhorenko leads a secluded life. She spends her last years in a village house and celebrates her 71st and last birthday there in 2011. Zhanna Trofimovna Prokhorenko remains to live in the memory of people and on film strips. Fresh flowers stand on her grave at any time of the year, as a recognition of the talent of a beautiful and successful film actress and a sign of respect for her services in cinema.
