In the seventh grade of a secondary school with in-depth study of English, Ivchenko decided to transfer to a local educational institution with a theater specialization. And then there was the receipt of a school certificate, failure to enter LGITMiK in Leningrad and a whole year of work as an assistant director at the Belarusfilm film studio, where she was intensively preparing for admission to a theater university.
In 1992 Alena entered the legendary "Pike" on the course to Yuri Shlykov, after which she was accepted into the troupe of the "Et Cetera" theater. Here she made her debut with the production of "Uncle Vanya". And then there was the second role in the play "Shylock" by Robert Sturua, for which Ivchenko was awarded the "Seagull" prize.
