Despite all the efforts of law enforcement agencies, each of us has a chance to become a victim of a robbery. How to protect yourself and your own home and how to detain the robber if the crime is still committed?

Step 1
Take care of your safety in advance. Human carelessness makes the work of criminals much easier. Install bars on the windows, if you live on the ground floor, take care of a reliable iron door and complex locks. When leaving, warn your neighbors about your absence. But what if you returned home and suddenly found the apartment door open?
Step 2
The most important thing is not to panic. In no case do not rush into the apartment headlong. If the criminals are still there, their reaction is difficult to predict, and it is by no means a fact that they will be afraid of you and surrender without a fight.
Step 3
Please call the police immediately. The number on duty is 02 or 020 if you use a cell phone. Leave the entrance or the house.
Step 4
Do not try to watch out for the exiting robbers. If they notice you, they will try to get rid of the witness, and your life and health are worth more than any material value.
Step 5
If the criminals have left the apartment, try not to touch anything until the police arrive. You can trample on important evidence or erase the fingerprints left by the robbers.
Step 6
Make a complete list of stolen items with detailed descriptions. Ideally, it is helpful to have photographs of each valuable item so that it is easier to identify them.
Step 7
If you did see the robbers, try to remember their appearance as best as possible. Any little thing: a tattoo, a scar or some other mark will help the police to quickly detain the criminal.
Step 8
Try to remember if you have noticed anything suspicious lately. Ask your neighbors if anyone has been interested in your apartment lately. Tell the police about all the collected data.
Step 9
And of course, take measures so that this does not happen again in the future. Install an alarm, hang blackout curtains or blinds. If you live on the first or second floor, close the vents before leaving the house.
