Once upon a time, a book was both the best companion for a person and an interesting way to spend time. Today, some people do not recognize books at all. And many of those who admit are talking about it only in theory. Why did people read so little?
Time is for business. Humanity has now decided to live by this principle. And for some reason, the books belonged to the second section of the proverb, to "fun". Work, travel, plans - in such a rhythm of life, allowing yourself to sit with a book is really a pleasure. But it's worth realizing that this is a necessary pleasure. The phrase “I don’t read because I’m busy” has become an excuse. And many people think that it is very reasonable. Huge streams of information are falling on a person today. And he doesn't need additional stories. At one time, communication existed only by telephone (or there was none) - after talking with friends, reading a newspaper, a person continued to be interested in the world. And this need was met by books. Now the Internet has appeared, where you can endlessly read interesting articles, browse sites, photos. After such a pastime, no one even thinks of picking up a book. The cult of the book also disappeared. Previously, the USSR was considered the most reading nation. And today Russia is recognized as a reading country, but this is no longer a matter of pride. The trend is coffee, newspapers, diaries, laptops, tablets. How long have you seen an advertisement where a successful person would just read a book? It's hard to remember such. When they strive to portray a happy, busy person, they show him with some useful gadget. To some extent, this means that reading has become unfashionable. But rather, the fact is that a person is used to taking an example from the environment, and this environment has not given an example of reading for a long time. The problem lies in the absence of good literature. Of course, there are always classics, and hardly anyone managed to read all the works of the 18th or 19th century. But every time needs its own book. And if the main course of the masterpieces of world literature has long been mastered, a person may want to read simple modern stories about people. But prose today is full of dirt, obscenities, stupid plots. The authors are being promoted as if on purpose, but their books are simply unpleasant to read.
