Step 1

The right to apply with a letter to the head of state is enshrined in the Constitution of the Russian Federation. You can send a letter of appeal to the President of Russia in electronic form directly from the official website of the President of the Russian Federation and the Kremlin https://letters.kremlin.ru/. Reception and consideration of letters of appeal from citizens and organizations is carried out in a strictly regulated manner

Step 2

All appeals sent to the specified address are sent to the Office of the President of the Russian Federation, which deals with work with the correspondence of citizens and organizations. The time allotted for registration of an appeal is three days (this duration is approved by Law No. 59 - FZ). The same law also regulates the procedure for considering the received correspondence.

Step 3

Everyone who sends a letter to the President must correctly fill out the questionnaire. The applicant can choose to receive an answer either in the form of an electronic document or in writing. The information that must be provided in order for the applicant to receive a response is the last name, first name, patronymic (if any), information about the e-mail address (e-mail) is also required and, if the response is to be received by mail, the postal address.

Step 4

The applicant receives a notification about the course of consideration of the information contained in the letter (complaints, requests, etc.) in electronic form to the e-mail box specified in the questionnaire. The size of the e-mail address is limited to 2 thousand characters, in addition, the presence of attached documents and materials in the form of one unarchived file of no more than 5 MB is allowed (the site contains a list of file formats allowed for attachment).

Step 5

Documents containing insults and obscene language, written using the Latin alphabet, typed in capital letters, without breaking into sentences, will not be accepted for consideration. Also, appeals are not considered if the address of the applicant is incorrect or incomplete, the text does not contain specific proposals or complaints, and also if the letter is not addressed to the President.

Step 6

The personal data of the authors of electronic requests is stored and processed in compliance with all the requirements of the Russian law on personal data.

In addition to such an opportunity to send an e-mail appeal to the President, special websites are created for this purpose during the President's direct lines with Russian citizens every year. What is noteworthy, although the President does not personally read the letters of citizens, there are no unanswered messages describing specific situations, each fact is investigated and a response is carried out.
