There are two ways to sprinkle and cleanse a house with holy water: by inviting a priest or on your own. In order to sprinkle a home on your own, you need to know all the subtleties of this procedure and prepare for it in advance. It is very important to carry out all the steps in the correct sequence.

Step 1
Before sprinkling the house with holy water, you need to clean up all the things, wash the windows, floors, wipe the dust, wipe the mirrors, and wash the curtains. The rooms should be free of unnecessary items and clutter. Cleaning can be done on any day except Sunday.
Step 2
Make sure there is enough light in the rooms. Do not sprinkle the house with the curtains drawn. It is better to sprinkle the dwelling on Sunday. Before that, it is advisable to visit the temple and take a blessing from the priest. Sprinkling a dwelling can be done without a blessing.
Step 3
Before starting the process, you must wash your hands. Loan you need to pour holy water into a clean bowl. Please note that under no circumstances should a bowl that has been touched by animals be used. Your best bet is to buy a new bowl. Before sprinkling a house, you need to read a prayer for blessed deeds.
Step 4
Sprinkle sprinkling from the red corner. The red corner is located in the central room diagonally from the entrance. There should be an iconostasis or icon in the red corner. You need to stand in front of the corner, scoop up some holy water with your right hand, spray the corner crosswise and say the following: “In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Step 5
Then you need to go around the room clockwise and sprinkle the rest of the corners, walls, ceiling and floor in the same way. Be careful not to step on drops of water on the floor. Holy water should not get under the shoes. It is best to remove your shoes before sprinkling and proceed with bare feet. After sprinkling the room, say the prayer to the Life-giving Cross.
Step 6
After sprinkling the central room, sprinkle the rest of the rooms, kitchen, bathroom and hallway in the same way. In the bathroom, you only need to sprinkle the corners. The toilet is not sprinkled with holy water. After sprinkling the entire apartment, read the prayer "Hieromartyr Blasius, Bishop of Sebastia."
Step 7
After you have sprinkled the entire dwelling, draw a cross on each wall and above the front door. Use chalk or pencil. They, too, must be lit according to the order of the illumination of things.
Step 8
If you have moved to a new home, it must be sprinkled with holy water and cleaned. Hang an icon of the Mother of God or Savior in the red corner. Light a candle and read a prayer for blessed deeds. Then sprinkle the entire house. Sprinkling holy water on a new dwelling is the same as sprinkling the dwelling in which you live.
