Orthodox Christians have developed a pious tradition to sprinkle baptismal water on their homes. This usually happens on Epiphany Eve - on the eve of the twelve-eighth feast of the Epiphany, often called Epiphany, or on the day of the feast. This is done for the purpose of sanctifying the home, driving out evil spirits, invoking God's blessing on everyone living in the house.

Instructions
Step 1
Prepare your home for consecration - do the cleaning.
Step 2
Take a container for water, and on Epiphany Christmas Eve (January 18) in the morning go to the nearest church for the Divine Liturgy. Or do it on the feast of the Epiphany itself (January 19) - the water is consecrated for two days and has the same power.
Step 3
Confess and partake. At the end of the service, the rite of the great consecration of the water collected in huge vats is performed. Sometimes water is consecrated in the so-called Jordan - a cross-shaped ice hole.
Step 4
Pray with all parishioners, following the calls of the priest, for the sending of the Holy Spirit to the water. Let your voice join in asking for the water to be healing for the soul and body, so that it sanctifies every place wherever it goes. After the prayer service for the great consecration of water, called Agiasma, reverently collect the baptismal water in the brought containers. At the same time, you can sing the troparion to the holiday: “In the Jordan, baptizing You, Lord, the Trinity is worship. The parents' voice testifies to Thee, calling the beloved Son of Thee, and the Spirit in the form of a dove communicated the statement in words. Appear, Christ God, and the world of enlightenments, glory to Thee."
Step 5
Be sure to open all the vents before sprinkling the apartment. Light up the icon lamp in the shrine or light a candle in front of the icon. Pour baptismal water into a clean vessel. Prepare a prayer book with the words of the troparion of Baptism, if you do not know the text by heart. Dip the sprinkler in holy water, and with the troparion chanting, begin sprinkling the perimeter of the room crosswise. First, sprinkle the east side with Epiphany water, then the west, then the north, and finally the south. After sprinkling one room, move on to other rooms.
Step 6
Say "In the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit" instead of singing the troparion if you are sprinkling the apartment not on Epiphany or the Feast of the Epiphany, but on any other day. Remember that in a consecrated apartment you must not smoke or use flamboyant words. By this you drive away the guardian angel. In general, monitor not only the sanitary condition of the home, but also its spiritual cleanliness. Avoid scandals, anger, quarrels and other negative phenomena in your home.
