One of the most "popular" countries among Russians is Germany. It is not easy to get there, but it is possible - in three situations. This is moving on a work visa, belonging to ethnic Germans or Jews.

Moving to Germany on a work visa is a rather complicated process. Its complexity is due to the fact that it is not easy for a foreigner to find a job in Germany. Each company, hiring a person from outside the Eurozone, is obliged to prove that there are no suitable candidates from among Germans or other citizens of the European Union for the required position. Considering the possibility of hiring a foreigner can take up to six months. As a rule, a unique specialist may well find a job in Germany, but for ordinary employees this is almost impossible, especially if they have neither higher education nor extensive work experience.

Obtaining a work visa begins with the conclusion of an employment contract with an employer. You can look for work in Germany on your own, through the websites of German companies or labor exchanges, in addition, it can be done through firms that specialize in finding employees for work in Europe. Then you need to contact the German embassy and get a national visa. Already on the spot, you need to contact the local office for foreigners and present a visa and a contract of employment in order to obtain a residence permit. It will be given for the period for which the contract is concluded, and if the contract is unlimited, then for two years. Then the term will be extended further, and after 5 years it will be possible to apply for permanent residence.

Ethnic Germans can move to Germany at any moment - as "late settlers". It is enough for them to prove that at least one of the parents is German. The proof will be the column "nationality" in the Soviet passport or any other official document in which the nationality is indicated. You need to contact the embassy, fill out a questionnaire and, based on the results of its consideration, obtain a permit for permanent residence with the prospect of obtaining German citizenship. But such questionnaires are considered for a long time, up to 5 years.

Jews can also move to Germany for permanent residence, but since 2005, the procedure for moving has become more complicated. The German embassy may require not only documents confirming nationality, but also other documentary evidence of the Jewishness of the person who wants to move and his parents, old photographs, extracts from books in synagogues, etc. At first, only a residence permit for three years can be issued. In any case, to move to Germany, it is important to know the German language at least at a basic level and not have a criminal background.
