Rashid Rakhimov was born in Dushanbe on March 18, 1965. He got his first football education in the local team "Trudovye Rezervy". Rakhimov's career in the Russian Football Championship began in 1992 with Spartak Moscow. Work on the field, precise implementation of the coaching directive and creativity in certain game moments attracted the attention of the breeders of the “people's” team. However, Rakhimov did not manage to stay long in Spartak. Rachid spent the full 1992-1993 season in Spain, where he defended the colors of Real-Valladolid. For the Spanish club, the defender spent 29 matches, in which he twice hit the opponents' goal with accurate shots.
After spending a season in Spain, Rashd Rakhimov returned to Russia, where he played until 1995. During this time, he joined the rosters of the Moscow "Spartak" and "Lokomotiv".
Rakhimov's career as a player also includes appearances in the Austrian Championship. The oboronets spent five years in one of the most famous Austrian clubs - Vienna "Austria" (1995-2000). During this time, he played more than a hundred matches, scored goals 12 times. In addition to the capital club, Rakhimov played for the Austrian Admira-Wacker and Reed.

Coaching career of Rashid Rakhimov
In December 2002, Rashid Rakhimov took over as coach of the Austrian Admira-Wacker. Coached the team for two seasons. For 57 matches played, he showed even results with the club: nineteen wins, defeats and draws each.
Rashid Mamatkulovich's coaching career in Russia began with Amkar Perm in 2006. The coaching statistics for the seasons spent with the team are impressive. Despite the fact that the Permians were not favorites of the domestic championship, “Amkar” was able to win 20 matches out of 48. Thus, as head coach, Rakhimov won 41, 67% of all matches. This is his highest performance in his career.
In Russia, Rakhimov coached several other clubs. In particular, he headed Lokomotiv Moscow from 2007 to 2009. However, he spent most of his time in a club from Grozny. From 2013 to 2017, he brought Terek Grozny to a new level, making this team inconvenient for every opponent in the Russian Championship. After leaving Terek, the team suffered a downturn in the game.
