It turned out that they are made by trailer makers, such as Alexander Serzhantov. He makes trailers for Russian films and already has a big name among people working in the film business.

First experiences

There is an interesting fact in the biography of Alexander: he always liked trailers more than the films themselves. Moreover, this interest in short videos appeared in his childhood - they impressed him much more than long narratives.

Therefore, as soon as a computer appeared in the family, the future trailer maker began to look for suitable editing programs in order to make short cuts from films himself. And these were real trailers.

Moreover, Sergeantov understood that he could not get a specialized education anywhere, and he studied everything himself - he learned the basics, and then he delved into this business and began to think that he would like to professionally deal with presentation videos for films.

In 2008, one of the Internet providers announced a competition for the best anime trailer. Alexander decided to participate and sent his work to the commission. It is not surprising that he won this competition, because he already had some experience.

Career

As an amateur, Alexander has already achieved everything he could: he made fan trailers - videos for already released Russian films. It was useless to work with foreign students, because everything was already at a professional level there. But in Russia there was no culture of trailers at all, and at first Sergeantov was just trying to show how you can make good cuts to Russian films.

He looked at Hollywood samples and made a trailer for a domestic film following their example. Gradually, he developed his own handwriting, and over time there was no need to copy someone.

The next step is videos for amateur films to fill the portfolio. And then it became possible to make trailers for a real movie.

I had to study many subtleties of the profession, in which, in fact, there are few clear boundaries and formal signs, except for technical requirements. Therefore, sometimes I had to go by touch, use my intuition. Most likely, the love for this activity and the fact that the experience was already quite solid helped.

Nevertheless, Alexander has to work as a freelancer, because in Russia there is no trailer industry as such, unlike Hollywood.

One of the subtleties of this profession is the ability to make trailers for paintings of different genres. After all, it is impossible to make identical videos for comedy and thriller, horror and melodrama. Here you can just get creative and reboot your head from the same type of plots.

One of the best examples of the Sergeants' movie trailer is the movie for the film "Doctor Strangelove", which was made by the famous Stanley Kubrick.

Alexander himself already has nominations for special awards for his trailers for the films "We will not say goodbye", "Witnesses", "Viy-2. The Secret of the Seal of the Dragon."
