From childhood, Andrei showed remarkable artistic abilities, actively participating during his studies in high school in the activities of the local drama club. Therefore, parents and teachers were not at all surprised by his decision, after receiving a certificate of secondary education, to enter the Shchukin Theater School. Here, on the course with Alla Kazanskaya, until 1988, he received the basics of acting, which later became very useful to him in his creative career.
In the period from 1988 to 1991, the aspiring actor served in the troupe of the Vakhtangov Theater, at the same time performing on the stages of the Praktika Theater and the Theater of Nations. After that, he joined the troupe of the Theater of Nations, where he appeared on the stage in six productions, among which theatergoers especially liked his appearance on stage in the form of the director of the circus Ludwig Osipovich (the play "Circus") and in the role of Timur Timurovich (staging "Chapaev and Emptiness ").
Immediately after graduating from a theatrical university, Andrei Fomin made his film debut, starring in the role of Andrei in one of the most daring film projects of the Soviet period - the drama Little Vera. The next year, his filmography was replenished with paintings by Vasily Pichul "Dark nights in the city of Sochi", Andrey Malyukov "Do it - once!" and Leonid Rybakov “The Book Thieves”.
