Biography

Georgy Yumatov was born in Moscow in 1926. From childhood, he dreamed of becoming a sailor and at the first opportunity he entered the naval school. The war prevented him from completing his studies, during which the future actor served on the Brave torpedo boat. Yumatov showed himself to be a valiant soldier, for which he was repeatedly awarded, and also promoted to the rank of a helmsman. After the war, Georgy returned to Moscow, where he met the director Grigory Alexandrov. This determined his future fate.

Yumatov starred in several Soviet films, which passed almost unnoticed by the audience. The first success came with the Young Guard tape. At that time, the novice actor was already determined to get the necessary education and studied at VGIK. The diligent student did an excellent job with the role in the war film, thanks to which he became well recognized by the public. The next successful films "Another flight", "Cruelty", "One of us" followed. In each of the roles, the actor was invested in full.

The next memorable film for viewers with Georgy Yumatov was the military drama "Officers", released in 1971. The actor played Alexei Trofimov, and the image turned out to be so lively that many boys later dreamed of becoming like a gallant officer. Unfortunately, due to family problems, Yumatov's career began to gradually fade. In the 80s, he appeared in the films "Ogareva, 6" and "Petrovka, 38", but in the end, his addiction to alcohol put an absolute end to his future plans.

In 1994, Yumatov committed the crime of shooting a janitor during a verbal skirmish. He was threatened with a term of imprisonment in the amount of 10 years, but thanks to his merits to the fatherland, the actor spent only two months in prison. And yet, numerous stresses and alcohol dependence led to the imminent death of Georgy Alexandrovich. He died in 1997 and was buried at the Vagankovskoye cemetery in front of a large crowd of people.

Personal life

Georgy Yumatov met his future wife Muza Krepkogorskaya while filming the film "Young Guard". However, a cheerful and easy-going girl during marriage showed herself completely from an unexpected side. Due to constant skirmishes, the couple still could not have a child, and when pregnancy came, Muse rushed to have an abortion. This caused infertility. With grief, Georgy Yumatov began to drink, which led to financial and career problems. Only after the death of her husband Krepkogorskaya understood all her mistakes.
