At the age of 17, Melikyan came to Moscow to become a director at VGIK, in the workshop of Sergei Solovyov. In 2002 she received a long-awaited diploma. Anna's coursework was associated with the motion picture "We flew", in which the notorious Nelly Uvarova starred.

After her studies, Melikyan shot several full-length films, which were awarded prizes at various festivals. Anna is starting to grab the attention of the press. Her first film was the picture "Mars", which was presented in 2004 at the Berlin Film Festival. And already in 2005, the girl became the founder of the Magnum film company.
