Armin van Buuren is a Dutch DJ and musician, founder of his own record label, which currently has many branches and specializes in electronic trance music. Armin has won 10 DJ Awards and 2 International Golden Gnome Awards.
In the city of Leiden, located in the Netherlands (Holland), on December 25, 1976, the future world famous DJ and musician Armin van Buuren was born. His father was a big fan of music, so from an early age Armin got acquainted with various musical genres and directions. Perhaps it was precisely such an impact that ultimately affected the path in life that Armin chose for himself.
Biography of Armin van Buuren: childhood and adolescence
Armin grew up as a very inquisitive child. He was attracted by computer games, various new technologies and, of course, various ways of making music. It is worth noting that the work of Jean-Michel Jarre, who was a master of electronic music, had a certain influence on the formation of the boy's musical taste. Later, when Armin was already closely engaged in the work of a DJ, he made a special emphasis on such a musical direction as trance.
Despite his craving for creativity, finishing school, Armin van Buuren wanted to continue his studies in the legal profession. He even began to prepare to enter one of the major universities in his hometown. As a result, having received a school certificate, the young man really entered the chosen educational institution, but he did not succeed in completing his education the first time. Due to his work in the musical direction, which was already in full swing at that moment, Armin dropped out of school. Only years later - in 2003 - he still graduated from the university.
Armin began creating his first music tracks at school. When he was only 14 years old, the boy recorded several compositions at home. And he was not afraid to send such amateur recordings to a musician named Ben Librand. As a result, these first tracks by Armin got into the collection, and he earned his first - considerable - money.
Musical career development
Armin van Buuren created his first album in 1995. The disc was named "Blue Fear" and was highly acclaimed in England and other European countries.
After parting with the university, Armin begins to actively work as a DJ in local clubs. In 1999 he mixes a track he calls "Communication". This composition quickly hit the European charts and brought fame to its creator. After such success, Armin decided to organize his own recording studio, which was named Armind. A few years later, Armin created a number of branches of his label, while focusing on trance music. At the same time, the young and already famous DJ started working together with DJ Tiësto.
In the early 2000s, Armin van Buuren went beyond the nightclubs with his creativity. He launches his own program on the radio, where his tracks are played. The show was aired once a week and lasted for two hours. Having achieved popularity, Armin organized a video version of his weekly performances. Filming took place at a studio in Amsterdam.
In 2006 van Buuren's LP 76 was released. From this moment, the recognized trance DJ begins to travel around the world, he is invited to the largest music festivals. And a year later he was recognized as the most demanded and best DJ in the world, leaving 99 more competitors behind.
The musician's next album was released in 2008. In the Netherlands, he instantly took off to the first lines of all thematic charts.
A couple of years later, Armin recorded another musical album, which received platinum status in Russia. Among the world releases, this disc was on the fifth line.
Simultaneously with his active musical activities, Armin van Buuren collaborated with various musicians, shot many clips that were very popular. In addition, the DJ was repeatedly nominated for various awards, most of which he eventually managed to get.
Armin van Buuren is a record-breaking DJ. A performance that lasted about 12 hours allowed him to receive such a title, while not having a single break.
In subsequent years, the famous musician released a number of successful records and firmly holds the leadership among other DJs working, including in the direction of trance music. And in 2017, the artist attended a concert in Russia.
Family and personal relationships
Armin van Buuren is a married man. He met his future wife in 1999 in Cyprus. The chosen one of the DJ was a girl named Erica van Thiel.
In a civil marriage, this couple lived for about ten years. All this time, Erica supported any undertakings of her man, traveled with Armin around the world.
In 2009, Armin and Erica officially signed, becoming husband and wife. In 2011, the couple had their first child - a girl named Fenna. In 2013, they had a son named Remi.
