Consulate is a body of foreign relations of a country, which is established on the territory of another state to carry out certain functions. Basically, the consulate serves citizens and deals with paperwork and issuing visas. There are consulates of two states in Samara - Italy and Slovenia.

The consulate provides support to Italian citizens living in the Samara region and the Republic of Tatarstan. Also cooperates with Italian enterprises located in Russian regions. It is possible to open a Schengen visa at the Italian consulate if the first country of visit is Italy. A package of documents is required to apply for a visa. This is a valid international passport; old passport containing valid visas; 2 photos with a size of 3 * 4; certificate from the place of work; photocopies of the pages of the civil passport; a bank card statement or travel checks for the amount of at least 70 thousand rubles. On July 11, 2011, the opening of the Consulate General of the Republic of Slovenia took place in Samara.
