Sergei Mikhailovich Tikhonov - Soviet young actor, performer of the main roles in films of the 1960s, who tragically passed away at the age of 21
The generation of our parents will surely remember the mischievous boy who played the Bad Boy and the Leader of the Redskins in the films "The Tale of the Boy-Kibalchish" and "The Leader of the Redskins". These films became classics of the cinema of the Soviet era, and the shaggy, absurd boy was remembered by the audience for his antics and bright, stunning appearance. But after two adventure films, the young actor disappeared from the screens of the time that was not already full of films.
BIOGRAPHY OF THE ACTOR
Sergei Mikhailovich Tikhonov lived a short, but memorable and bright life. Was born on December 25, 1950 in Moscow. In 1966, Sergei, having already starred in two films, graduates from eight classes of school No. 90 of the Krasnopresnensky district of Moscow. The boy did not manage to get the desired acting education. Sergei tried to enter the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography named after S. A. Gerasimov, but was not accepted, in connection with which he went to serve in the ranks of the Soviet Army. The actor's life ended tragically on April 21, 1972: at a very young age, not reaching 22 years old, he died after being hit by a tram. The actor was buried in Moscow at the Khimki cemetery.

How did the work of Sergei Tikhonov develop? The talented child played his first role in the 1962 film in the black-and-white comedy film by Leonid Gaidai "Business People" (they will go to the Mosfilm film studio). The director borrowed the title of the film from one of the works of Sir O'Henry. Gaidai filmed a film almanac of three unrelated short stories based on the stories of the American writer, which became the first independent feature film by the famous director. Two parts of the film - "The Leader of the Redskins" and "Kindred Souls" - were shot in Gaidaev's trademark comedy style, and "The Roads We Choose" - in the genre of tragedy.
Tikhonov became a real star among the Soviet audience, performing his main role in "The Leader of the Redskins", at that time Sergei was 13 years old. For this role, Gaidai chose between 23-year-old baby Nadezhda Rumyantseva and then unknown Sergei Tikhonov. The tomboy was perfect for a comedic role. Leonid Gaidai recalled Sergei: "You don't have to be a director to see what a rare acting talent this child possessed."
The film was shot in the Crimea, in the Bakhchisarai region in the village of Kuibyshevo. Seryozha managed to fight with one of the local guys because of the peaches that the aspiring actor was eating in someone else's orchard.
Sergei perfectly fit into the role, playing Johnny - the son of Colonel Ebenezer Dorsett, a wealthy landowner. A red-haired tomboy with a freckled face, thin build, but strong and well-physically developed, with intelligent eyes, full of curiosity and a desire to explore the world in all possible ways. In his role, the boy played no worse than such sharks of Soviet cinema as Georgy Vitsyn and Alexey Smirnov.
In 1964, at the Alexander Dovzhenko Film Studio, the production of the film "The Tale of the Boy-Kibalchish" based on the tale of Arkady Gaidar "The Tale of the Military Secret, about the Boy-Kibalchish and his strong word" began. The film was directed by Evgeny Sherstobitov, who invited Sergei Tikhonov for the role of Plohish with the words: “We will not find the best Plohish”. At the same time, in one of his interviews, E. Sherstobitov told about the actor: “You don’t have to be a director to see what a rare acting talent this child possessed”.
The last film in the filmography of the young actor was the film by director Radomir Vasilevsky "Dubravka" 1967 (Odessa Film Studio), filmed based on the story of the same name by Radiy Pogodin. Sergei Tikhonov played the role of a juvenile bully nicknamed Iron in it. In the film, he acts as a courtyard rival of the main character - young Dubravka, with whom he puts up by the end of the film.
By the end of the film, young Dubravka begins to understand that human relations require participation and therefore her ridiculous conflicts are gradually beginning to be resolved by themselves. She puts up with a boy nicknamed "Iron" - her yard rival, finds mutual understanding with Pyotr Petrovich, feels that she undeservedly offended Valentina Grigorievna.
SLUDDEN RANDOMITY OR SOMEONE'S INTERFERENCE
The sudden death of Sergei Tikhonov gave rise to many misinterpretations. Almost no one believed in the official version that the actor died absurdly after being hit by a tram. Director Yevgeny Sherstobitov told in one of his interviews: “I was told that he got in touch with some bad company and that either he got hit by a tram, or he was pushed, the story is unclear. I was warned then not to ask anybody about it too much, the story is too dark."
There was a version that the actor was ruined by a passion for gambling. He prefeccuonally played into the cards, and when he returned from the interface, he found a new enticement - the game was on top of it, emo was the only moment, where we were Other independent games were banned in the Soviet era.
