Margarita Simonovna was born on April 6, 1980. Her hometown is Krasnodar. Margarita's father is Armenian by nationality, he earned money by repairing refrigerators. Mother sold flowers.

In 2013, Margarita had a daughter, Maryana, and in 2014, a boy, Bagrat. Simonyan is friends with Keosayan's ex-wife, Alena Khmelnitskaya.

Margarita wrote 2 scripts for films directed by her husband. She also appeared in an episode of his film "Three Comrades", participated in the creation of the movie "Crimean Bridge". The family has their own restaurant in Sochi.
