Alexander Boroday: strokes for a biography

The future journalist and political scientist was born on July 25, 1972. Borodai is a Muscovite. Sasha's father was a specialist in philosophy. Sister Tatiana chose history as her specialty - Antiquity and the Middle Ages. L. Gumilev and A. Zinoviev were friends of the family. Alexander has an unpublished correspondence between his father and Lev Gumilyov. The atmosphere in the family had a strong influence on the worldview and the formation of Alexander's views.

In 1992, the junior Borodai graduated from the 2nd year of philosophy at the main metropolitan university. And immediately went to the zone of the Transnistrian conflict. A year later, Alexander was on the side of the defenders of the beleaguered Supreme Council, who opposed Boris Yeltsin.

Borodai continued his education. Alexander received his MSU graduation document in 1994. Then he underwent postgraduate training. Social philosophy became his specialization. The young scientist was interested in the problems of national conflicts, the theory of elites.

There are very few reliable data regarding the personal life of Alexander Yuryevich. He does not discuss these topics when communicating with the press.

Further career

From 1993 to the summer of 1994 Boroday was an expert at the Russian Fund for Reforms. Then he worked as a war correspondent for RIA Novosti. Among the events he covered was the Chechen war, where Alexander Yuryevich filmed TV reports. Borodai also wrote for the Zvezda newspaper, becoming its military observer.

Alexander has more than a dozen election campaigns of various levels under his belt. He is known as a prominent PR consultant. At the beginning of the new century, Borodai held the position of deputy editor of the Russian Entrepreneur publication.

Borodai more than once rather evasively noted in interviews that there are enough "people in uniform" among his acquaintances. A message flashed in the press about his cooperation with the Russian special services, but it did not receive confirmation.

Participation in Ukrainian events

There is information that A. Borodai took an active part in a special action to annex Crimea to the Russian Federation. Since the spring of 2014, Alexander Yuryevich began to appear in the news, where it was said about the conflict confrontation in the East of Ukraine. Presumably, he already then participated in special operations, taking the side of the armed opposition.

In May 2014, Alexander Yuryevich was officially approved as the head of the DPR government. Borodai made the decision, as he himself later admitted, with obvious reluctance: he was used to being in the shadows. The Ukrainian authorities declared the newly-made chairman of the DPR government wanted: he was accused of participating in terrorist activities.

At the end of the summer of 2014, the young prime minister resigned from a high post in the government of the self-proclaimed republic. The official reason is "moving to another job." Subsequently, A. Borodai became the head of the structure that received the name "Union of Donbass Volunteers".
