Studying foreign languages opens up new career prospects, makes it possible to watch films and read books in the original, understand the meaning of songs, and simply trains memory. However, not all languages are learned with the same ease - some of them are very simple, and those that are extremely difficult to learn.
The most difficult languages
One of the most difficult languages is Chinese. Each word is indicated in it by a separate symbol, having recognized which, you still have no idea how it is pronounced. The huge number of homophones is also difficult - words that are pronounced in the same way, but are spelled differently and denote different concepts. The tonal system in Chinese also does not make it easy for the student. In addition to the general intonation of the sentence, each syllable is also pronounced with a different tonality, which determines the meaning of the word.
The Japanese language is not much inferior to Chinese in its complexity. Knowledge of the symbols also does not give an idea of their pronunciation. There are three writing systems in Japanese: Kanji, which uses Chinese characters, Hiragana, which is used to write grammatical particles and suffixes, and Katakana, which is used to denote borrowed words.
It is believed that students studying Japanese spend three times as much time on this as those who study English or French.
The Arabic language also causes a lot of difficulties. Vowels are not used when writing, and consonants have four spellings depending on their position in the word. Nouns and verbs have to be studied in singular, dual and plural. The nouns themselves have three cases and two genders, and the verb in the sentence is placed before the predicate.
The dialects of Arabic are also of great complexity, which can differ as much as modern European languages differ from each other.
The lightest languages
Despite the fact that the English language has a lot of nuances (for example, words are often read not at all the way they are written, and a lot of verbs are conjugated incorrectly), it has a simple grammar. In addition, in everyday life, people often encounter English in songs, films, brand names and products on supermarket shelves. It won't be so difficult to get to know this language better.
Spanish is also very easy to learn. The pronunciation is very similar to English, however, unlike the languages of Great Britain and the United States, in Spanish the spelling of words is the same as their pronunciation. The structure of sentences in this language is also easy to learn.
For a Russian-speaking person, it will not be very difficult to study other languages of the Slavic group, and the closer they are to their native language, the easier the training will be. The fastest way to learn Ukrainian and Belarusian, a little more difficult - Bulgarian and Czech. The Polish language is not considered easy - it has seven cases, and the grammar is replete with exceptions to the rules.
