From the biography of Alfred Koch

The future Russian statesman was born on February 28, 1961. His homeland is the city of Zyryanovsk (Kazakh SSR). It was to these lands that his father, Reingold Davydovich, was exiled before the war. Being a German by nationality, the elder Koch had lived all his life in the Krasnodar Territory. Alfred's mother, Nina Georgievna, is a purebred Russian.

When they began to build a new car plant in the USSR, the family moved to the city of Togliatti. Alfred spent his childhood and youth here.

In the new place, Koch's father worked as the head of one of the main departments of the Volga Automobile Plant. After graduating from school in Togliatti, Alfred went to Leningrad, where he became a student at the Institute of Finance and Economics. In 1983 he completed his studies and became a specialist in the field of economic cybernetics. As a result of the distribution, Koch ended up at the Prometheus Research Institute of Structural Materials.

The topic of his dissertation was related to the methods of a comprehensive assessment of the conditions for the location of industrial enterprises. After that, Koch taught at the Leningrad "Polytechnic", settling in the department of radio-electronic production management.

After the end of the Soviet regime, Koch was actively involved in the political processes taking place in the country. Then he was engaged in journalism and wrote books.

Official and businessman career

In 1990, Koch became the head of the executive committee of the Sestroretsk District Council. The promising leader was noticed and sent for an internship in Chile, where he received training at the so-called "Institute for Freedom and Development". Returning to St. Petersburg, Koch began to make a successful career. Alfred Reingoldovich became deputy head of the country's State Committee for State Property Management.

After Boris Yeltsin was elected president of the country, Alfred Kokh, who actively participated in the election campaign, became Deputy Prime Minister of the country. He spent about six months in office and was dismissed on charges of abuse of office.

Tired of politics, Koch plunged into business. For some time he worked with the NTV television company, as well as with the Gazprom-Media holding.

Alfred Koch took an active part in the privatization of state property, persistently promoting fundamental reforms in this area. Some modern researchers of that period of the country's development talk about the colossal damage that the privatization activities caused to the interests of the state.

Smuggling case

In 2015, Koch moved to live in Germany. This happened after the initiation of a criminal case against Alfred Reingoldovich under the article "Contraband": Koch made an attempt to export the canvases of the artist Isaac Brodsky outside Russia. The enterprising "merchant" declared the picture as a copy. However, the examination carried out proved that the canvas is genuine. After a lengthy trial, Alfred Reingoldovich was charged with the smuggling of cultural property.
