Olga Vasyukova was born into a military family in the city of Budapest on May 8, 1980. The girl's father, a colonel at that time, was serving in the capital of Hungary. At the age of six, on the instructions of her parents, Olga began to engage in sports swimming. After school, having entered the Russian State University of Physical Education, Olga began her career as a synchronized swimmer in sports.

In 1997 Olga won her first gold medal in the group synchronized swimming routine at the World Junior Championships. The success of the young and talented synchronized swimmer was noticed, and in 1998 Olga was invited to the Russian national synchronized swimming team.
In 1999, at the 24th European Aquatics Championships held in Istanbul, Olga showed the best result in group exercises and won a gold medal. In the same year, the athlete won the gold medal at the Synchronized Swimming World Cup.
At the 25th European Championship 2000 in Helsinki, the Russian team won fifteen gold medals and became the first in the team event. Olga Vasyukova and Olga Brusnikina became the favorites in synchronized swimming.
On September 29, 2000, Olga, together with the Russian national synchronized swimming team, won the gold Olympic medal in the group exercises. The victory in Sydney was unconditional and well-deserved, the Russian synchronized swimmers showed a bright program full of complex elements. After the Olympic triumph, Olga ended her sports career.
In the spring of 2001, Olga was awarded the state award of the Russian Federation - the Order of Friendship. She was also awarded the title of Master of Sports of Russia.

After leaving the big sport, Olga entered the Moscow State University, the Faculty of Journalism. In 2003, she was invited to the Russia-2 channel as a sports presenter in the Vesti-sport program.
In June 2013, Olga became one of the main presenters of the daily sports and information program "Bolshoi Sport" on the channel "Russia-2". A year later, the program became the winner in the Best Sports Program 2014 nomination of the Sports Russia award.
