Valery Petrovich's parents are teachers. Father, Peter Mikhailovich, returning from the fronts of the Great Patriotic War, became a history teacher at the school in the village of Koslan, and in 1959 he was appointed director of a secondary school. Mother, Anna Mikhailovna, first worked in the district department of public education, and then began to teach mathematics in the same school in the village of Koslan. It was in this village on July 11, 1947 that the future politician was born.

Capable from childhood

All the years of Valera's studies, her mother intensively coached her son in her subject. And, although at that time she was still an inspector at RONO, the demand from the boy was great. But this was not a burden for the guy: it is impossible to know such a complex subject from under a stick, you need real mathematical abilities. As a result, Valery Petrovich graduated from school in 1966, receiving a medal for special achievements in learning. With the same success, he entered the university. His choice fell on the A. A. Leningrad State University. Zhdanov, Faculty of Physics. Valery Petrovich easily took more and more heights: he received a higher education, got a job as a laboratory assistant at Syktyvkar State University, and when he had already defended his Ph. D. thesis and became a candidate of physical and mathematical sciences, he began to grow professionally: first an assistant, then a senior teacher, then an associate professor, in the end he reached the head of the Department of Experimental Physics.

From his youth, Markov showed organizational skills. A striking example was his initiative to create a physics and mathematics boarding school in the republic. He also became a member of its governing council. An ardent supporter of local culture, he became the head of the Committee for the Revival of the Komi People, he is also famous for being a member of the UN working group on indigenous peoples.

Valery Petrovich himself is sure that it was no coincidence that he became a deputy, since he must take part in public life, and not look from the outside. Therefore, in his work, he always understood: the ongoing reforms in no way should worsen the situation of people. Moreover, they should touch upon those problems that really worry the people. Therefore, in his native republic, he regularly communicated with residents of various settlements - from large cities to "bear corners", to find out their real needs. He never gave empty promises, but he himself turned to entrepreneurs and authorities of different levels for help. So his deputy in the State Duma and the Federation Council is another serious way to improve the quality of life of ordinary people in Komi. So, for example, Valery Petrovich's contribution is that he contributed to the completion of the construction of a school in the village of Chernutevo. Long-term construction could not be completed for a long time, the number of children in the village was decreasing, but still a school appeared, and the school, as you know, is the center of village life, and now it has a future. The deputy helped the long-standing desire of the villagers to perpetuate the memory of the soldiers who fell in the Great Patriotic War. For the 65th anniversary of the great Victory, stone monuments appeared in three villages at once. By the way, he could communicate with the people of Komi in the local language. Valery Petrovich knows and loves him very well. After all, language is the basis of national values, it must be especially protected, which is also what the deputy was doing.

Ordinary people who happened to personally get to know Valery Petrovich unequivocally note his strong, strong-willed character and firmness of spirit: constant business trips, work late, rare hours with his family, but he is still tireless and full of enthusiasm. His professional and moral human qualities are also highly appreciated. It is not surprising that Markov has achieved a lot. He has received a number of awards.
