Only a limited circle of people is aware of the fact that poets-intellectuals live in Russia. The main nerd, Sergei Biryukov, not only writes poetry in a futuristic style, but also lectures students on the history of the Russian avant-garde.
Starting conditions
For many centuries, poetry has been considered an elite genre of literature. And only at the end of the 19th century, peasants and other representatives of the common people began to appear as poetic images. Sergei Evgenievich Biryukov, according to his confession, from childhood was “branded with one passion”. Passion for the search for a poetic image. The craving for word and sound manifested itself at an early age. At first, the boy himself could not understand how he picks up the secret call from the clouds and night shores. And only with time I realized that there are people in this world with kindred souls.
The future poet was born on May 19, 1950 in an ordinary Soviet family. Parents at that time lived in the small village of Torbeevka in the famous Tambov region. My father worked as a machine operator on a collective farm. The mother worked in the field-crop brigade and was engaged in the household. Sergei grew up as an energetic and inquisitive boy. He learned to read early. As soon as he was enrolled in the school, he asked where the library was. Much to the surprise of those around him, he preferred to read poetry collections. After the tenth grade, Biryukov decided to get a specialized education at the philological faculty of the Tambov Pedagogical Institute.
Creative activity
After receiving his diploma, Biryukov entered graduate school and began teaching students a course in Russian literature. In his lectures, he talked a lot about the avant-garde movements that appeared in literature at the dawn of the 20th century. Among many representatives of futurism, Sergei Evgenievich singled out the poets Velimir Khlebnikov and Vasily Kamensky. And he not only singled out, but also acted as a direct successor of the Russian futurists. In his poems, Biryukov used such forms of expression as zaum and verse. By the definition of Sergei Evgenievich, zaum is a kind of poetry in which the music of the word moves ahead of the meaning.
The first poems of Sergei Biryukov were published on the pages of the city newspaper in 1970. Twenty years later, the teacher and poet organized the world's first Zaumi Academy. Contrary to skeptics and ill-wishers, poets from many countries of Europe, America and Asia expressed their desire to become members of the Academy. The poet's creative career was going well. His performances on stage, which were called vocal and poetic, enjoyed great success. Biryukov not only read his works, but sang for the most part.
