The biography of the future athlete began in 1919. The child was born in the Moscow province in the village of Kostino. The boy was fond of sports from an early age. He visited the Kostinsky stadium since 1927. A commune was organized not far from the house. A team was created in it, in which Vasya Trofimov played.
Coached by the novice champion Matvey Goldin. The games were also attended by the management of Bolshevsky "Dynamo". The mentors quickly spotted the promising kid while playing hockey. He was taken to the youth team for Yakushev.
Before the beginning of 1939, a transfer to the capital "Dynamo" took place. In various types of spots for the Moscow club, the athlete played throughout his career. Trofimov showed himself to be a talented and efficient player. The athlete was distinguished by his enormous capabilities in the field of tactics and technical abilities.
Dexterous and agile, he brilliantly mastered the stroke, masterly changing the direction and rhythm of movement. His maneuvers were especially spectacular when he was rapidly moving along the very edge, when Vasily Dmitrievich covered the ball with his body, not missing it out of the field. He had a perfectly delivered blow from both feet.
In the fall of 1945, the athlete took part in the Dynamo tour of Great Britain. Before the start of the games, Trofimov was injured. Because of her, in the match with London "Arsenal" on the field, he lasted a little over half an hour. In the fall of 1947, a trip to Scandinavia took place, where Vasily became one of the heroes of the matches. Then there were victories with the Yugoslavian "Partizan", the Budapest "Vashash", games in Hungary, the GDR.
Successes and failures
The confrontation between CDSK and Dynamo, which began after the war, proceeded with varying success. It ended only with the disbandment of the army team in 1952. Trofimov became the number one figure in all matches, nicknamed the Chepets for "cheering" to strong opponents, preventing him from scoring goals. According to all rivals, it was impossible to compete with the short, agile player.
He never adhered to patterns, constantly improvising in both hockey and football. His sudden accelerations deprived rivals of all opportunities. If necessary, the extreme right went to the gate, turning into a real battering ram. It was impossible to believe his "feints", Chepets performed them so easily in different parts of the field. At the same time, the athlete was amazingly able to find complete mutual understanding with teammates.
He quickly assessed the situation, instantly made the best decision, accurately passing the ball to his partner, who was in the optimal position. His completion of the attack was also impressive. The flank pass was focused and sharp, always technically impeccable. The variety of means used was striking. He acted throughout the field, consistently displaying tremendous individual skill.
The professional had the ability to transform into pieces of a chess game. It was this strategy that was adhered to in the then game with a clear distribution of players. According to Trofimov, the main point was the speedy handling of the ball. He did not recognize pauses, he loved changing rhythms.
They did not compare him with the famous Garrinches, everyone who saw Chepts's game said that the Brazilian was just like him in the game.
The athlete played for the national football team in 1952. In preparation for the Olympics, he played 7 matches, scored 2 goals.
