There is always a place in life for good and light deeds. Thanks to the help of ordinary people, churches are being restored, on the walls of which icons are shining again. You don't need to be special to help restore its former splendor, just do what you can to help!
Instructions
Step 1
Find out who the legal owner of the temple is. In Soviet times, churches were transferred to the ownership of collective farms and, possibly, are still on the balance sheet of this agricultural enterprise. Talk to the local dean of the parish. You can find out his contacts from the priest in a nearby working church or on the website on the Internet (now many dioceses have them).
Step 2
In a conversation with the dean, find out the attitude of the diocese to the restoration of this temple. And if it is positive, you will receive a blessing.
Step 3
Open a parish at the church, gather an initiative group of at least 20 people who are actively involved in the life of the church and divine services. Without this, the diocese cannot help; it needs confidence that people need this church, and it will not stand empty.
Step 4
After registering a parish, open a bank account, it is needed to receive charitable funds from organizations. Contact the local administration, it is likely that assistance will be provided from its side.
Step 5
Conduct the conservation of the building, cut down the trees on the roof, clean the church of debris and broken bricks. Strengthen the foundation and vaults of the building, walls. Replace windows, roof. Be prepared for the fact that the process of restoration and return of the building to its normal appearance will take a long time.
Step 6
Communicate information about the revival of the temple to local residents. Set up a small stand in a conspicuous place, post on it information about the progress of the planned subbotniks, divine services (if any). Be sure to leave your contact phone number and address there. Show people that things are moving, albeit slowly.
