Biography: early years

Corinne Marin Cooper, nee Pingitor, was born on July 21, 1972 in the town of Kenosha, in the northern United States. She grew up in a religious family. My father was a pastor in a local church.

As a child, Corey decided to get a musical education. At school age I spent hours listening to records of Sarah McLahan, U2. This left an imprint on her further musical career.

After school, Corey began playing keyboards in the local band Alkeme, whose repertoire consisted of rock songs on Christian themes. It also included her sister. The team often performed at various venues in their native Kenosha. The group also toured other cities in Wisconsin.

Career

In 1999, Corey became a member of the rock band Skillet. To fit into it, she had to learn to play the guitar. She coped with this task perfectly, and in a short time and being pregnant. Corey changed her group for personal reasons, marrying John Cooper, founder of Skillet. She left Alkeme to be with her beloved spouse as often as possible.

Personal life

In 1996, Corey met John Cooper, an ambitious rock musician and womanizer. Their first meeting took place in the church, where he came to confession. A relationship began between John and Corey. The "candy-bouquet" period lasted throughout the year. That acquaintance changed Corey's personal life, and also became a key one in her future career. Three years after the first meeting, John invited her to marry.

The wedding took place in 1999. John and Corey have decorated their ring fingers with tattoos instead of traditional wedding rings.
