When the boy was 8 years old, the Barrowmen moved to Uddingston, where they lived for several years.
In 1976, John's father was offered a job in America. The family settled in Joliet, Illinois. While attending high school, Barrowman begins to discover his creative potential - he participates in school theater and musical performances.
After leaving school, he starts working in the company for which his father worked. Without any education, he worked as a simple worker. The young man did not like the hard physical labor, he asked his father to help him transfer to the office.
In 1985, Barouman left for California, entered the university, where he studied acting. In 1989 he returned to Britain to continue his studies.
Career
Barrowman's first appearance on television took place in 1987. He starred in the crime drama "The Untouchables" in the tiny role of a passer-by.
In 1995 he starred in the soap opera "Central Park West", the series did not receive much success, was filmed for only one season.
In 2000 he began filming in the new project of Aaron Spelling "Titans". The film was predicted to be a phenomenal success, but due to lack of interest from viewers, the series was closed before the end of the filming of the first season.
