She was born in 1968 in Granada Hills, Los Angeles. Ashley's mother is the famous country singer Naomi Judd. The girl's older sister also followed in her mother's footsteps, becoming a country performer. Father Michael Siminella analyzed the horse racing industry. Ashley's parents divorced when she was 4 years old. Mother, at that time a little-known singer, could hardly earn for the needs of two children.
