Many songs of the German pop group Dschinghis Khan are dedicated to the stereotypes and exoticism of different countries. Abroad, especially in Russia, musicians have won much more popularity than at home. The creativity of the collective continues to enjoy success.
The Dschinghis Khan group was created specifically to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest. Musicians from Germany successfully debuted on it, finishing in 4th place.
The beginning of success
In 1979, music producer Ralph Siegel embarked on his Genghis Khan project. Six vocalists took part. In the shortest possible time, a hit of the same name was created.
The performance at Eurovision turned out to be bright. The song was accompanied by equally impressive choreography. The composition quickly became a worldwide hit. In the homeland of the performers, the single did not descend from the top lines of the charts for a month.
The first success was consolidated with new hits. Successful songs were supplemented with English versions. The musicians turned each performance into a memorable theatrical show. The public's increased attention was attracted by both the originality of the images and the dynamism of the choreography.
Breakup and reunion
Until the early eighties, the team did not doubt full houses. But then the situation began to change. To maintain interest in the work of the collective, a dramatic bright performance Corrida was created. A disc was released on its basis. In 1985, the musicians decided to cease their activities.
Some of the participants decided to unite for further performances next year. A decade later, the group gave a concert in Japan again, performing a medley of their hits.
By the beginning of the 2000s, the idea of reunification was again submitted by one of the participants, Steve Bender. In 2005, the team played in the "Olympic" in the first line-up. Newcomers, such as Ebru Kaya, Stefan Trek and Daniel Kesling, joined the team. Success has become a stimulus for the continuation of creativity.
The show goes on
However, Bender passed away in 2006, and Trek focused on his solo career. In 2007, Stefan put together the band's mutated hits on the album Rising. The Legacy of Genghis Khan dance group appeared, performing with musicians. The composition of the project participants did not remain unchanged.
2018 became a new stage in the history of the band. The decision to merge was made by Trek and Heichel. One of them owned the Genghis Khan brand abroad, the other represented a pop-band at home. Concerts resumed under the Dschinghis Khan label, and work on a new compilation began in the same year.
In the fall, the fans were presented in Moscow with a program of hits at the "Disco of the 80s". The test of time was passed: fans to this day on the Web post clips with incendiary masterpieces of musicians.
