Aram Apetovich Asatryan is a famous Armenian singer, songwriter and poetry writer. He is a very talented person, in his short life he wrote more than 500 songs, some of which he dedicated to his beloved Armenia. All his life he was devoted to his homeland and never aspired to life outside its borders.
Aram Apetovich, despite his boundless talent, was a modest man. He did not suffer from star fever and did not like being called a star. He said that the stars are in the sky. His relatives claim that Aram Apetovich fell asleep and woke up with music, he always hummed something. His sons believe that their father from the very bottom climbed to the very top of the musical Olympus. Unfortunately, truly talented people die early.
Biography
Aram Apetovich was born on March 3, 1953 in the family of Armenian refugees Apet Asatryan (father) and Ashkhen Mamprenyan (mother). His parents worked in agriculture and had nothing to do with music and art. The Asatryan family lived in Echmiadzin, the hometown of Aram Apetovich. Despite the fact that his parents are not musicians or singers, talent and love for music were in his blood. By tradition, all representatives of the Asatryan clan from early childhood learned to play national musical instruments. Aram Apetovich is no exception. Even in early childhood, he composed songs, poems and performed at various holidays.
In 1983 he organized a quintet with his friends. Their creative team was among the amateur and, according to the rules in force in the USSR, he did not have the right to record his songs at state recording studios. The creative team nevertheless recorded its first song at a state studio, bribing the guards and infiltrating the studio after hours. The sound recording was done independently, later the recording was distributed through friends and acquaintances. The song was called "Near a pure spring", it was she who brought glory to Aram Apetovich. Over time, the name of Aram Apetovich became known not only throughout Armenia, but also in other republics of the USSR.
During the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh, he performed in front of volunteers, performed not only his own songs, but also songs of other authors.
On November 7, 2006, Aram Apetovich's life suddenly ended, he died at 53 from a heart attack. On that day, nothing foreshadowed trouble, he was preparing for the presentation of the new album and concerts in Russia.
Musical career
Aram Apetovich recorded more than 500 songs in his short life, the most famous were 22 songs. In the mid-90s, he became famous in the United States. The Armenian diaspora invited him to the States, Aram Apetovich went there with his family. The singer planned to live in the States for 5-6 years.
In the United States, he opened his own recording studio, Star Records, and recorded several albums there. Despite his success overseas, Aram Apetovich missed his native Armenia and visited it regularly. At the end of the 90s, during his next visit to Armenia, he was offered to star in a film entitled "Our Yard". The artist accepted the offer and played one of the roles in the film "Our Yard" and in the film "Our Yard 2".
Aram Apetovich devoted most of his works to Armenia. In 2003, he was awarded the Gusan Prize. During his life, the singer-songwriter received eight awards, six of them were presented to him in Armenia. One of the awards is international. At the age of 50, the singer performed on tour in Russian cities.
The author - performer recorded his last album “My sons” in 2006 together with his sons Artashes and Tigran. It was for the presentation of this album that he was preparing before his sudden death.
Family and personal life
The singer-songwriter was married once, his wife's name is not mentioned in official sources. The Asatryans have three sons (one of them died tragically in 2006) and a daughter, Zvart. Aram Apetovich was very worried about the death of his son, but he carefully concealed his emotions.
Since childhood, the eldest son was fond of music, participated in sound recordings and toured with his father. Artashes Asatryan has been performing on stage in Armenia since the late 90s, he is called the star of the Armenian chanson.
