Childhood and youth

Khonsu was born in Africa, in the capital of Benin in 1964 and became the fifth child in the family. His father worked as a simple cook, and his mother was engaged in children and the household. Like many of today's black celebrities, Djimon got the opportunity to emigrate to Europe, and in 1977 he moved with his brother Edmond to France.

Parents were convinced that even a 13-year-old teenager would find a better life there for himself than in rather backward Nigeria. But at first, their hopes did not materialize, Khonsu dropped out of school and became a street tramp. He rummaged through garbage dumps, committed petty thefts and did not think about any education. And one day he was caught, but not into the hands of the police. He, a ragged beggar, was seen by the photographer of the model house of the famous Thierry Mugler, and after taking several colorful pictures, he invited the guy to try himself as a model.

By 1987, Honsu Djimon had made a good career in the modeling business, becoming one of the best models of the Mugler fashion house. His distinctive appearance attracted the attention of the creators of music videos for stars, and Djimon appeared more than once in the videos of Madonna, Janet Jackson and other equally famous artists.

Creative career

The model's biography did not attract Khonsu too much; it lacked the necessary dynamics for an active man. In his own words, “The model is only required to keep her mouth shut and look good. This is not for me,”and in the 90th year, the handsome black man moved to Los Angeles to try himself as an actor. He quickly finds something to do for himself - at one of the castings, Djimon is offered a small role in the film "Illegal Entry".

Hounsu's talent was immediately appreciated by larger companies, and already in 1994 he appeared in Stargate, and in 1997 he was nominated for a Golden Globe for his work in Amistad Spielberg. Horror films, thrillers, television series - Khonsu does not refuse offers that have been generously poured on him and realizes that he has found his happiness in work. He appears in many successful films of the 90s and early 2000s.

The actor has more than forty works in films and TV shows. Djimon is engaged in voice acting for animation, continues to work with fashion houses, for example, he became a model in the line of Calvin Klein underwear for men, is actively involved in charity work and takes part in the activities of organizations fighting the problems of the planet's ecology.
