Life before the singer's career

Serdar Ortach was born in Istanbul in February 1970. He received his complete secondary education at the Lyceum in Suadiye (this is one of the districts of Istanbul). Then Serdar studied at the professional lyceum in the direction of "Turning" and at the University of Bilkent in the department of "Culture and language of the United States". However, soon after entering the University, Ortach took the documents from him.

Then he tried to become an opera singer in Vienna (Austria), but family circumstances forced him to return to his native country. Here Ortach began working as a DJ at the Istanbul radio station and in nightclubs and quickly achieved popularity in this field.

Release of first albums and imprisonment

In 1994, Serdar Ortach recorded and released his first album - it was called "Ask Icin" ("For the sake of love"). And by the end of the year, it became the best-selling album in Turkey - more than 2 million copies of it were sold. The second album ("Yaz Yağmuru") appeared in 1996, the third ("Loco Para Amar") - in 1997, the fourth ("Gecelerin Adam") - in 1998.

The year 1999 was difficult enough for Serdar Ortac. This year he was detained and sent to prison. He was suspected of deliberately avoiding military service. He spent 63 days in the Mamak prison in Ankara, after which he was still released - the prosecution did not have the necessary evidence.

Ortach's work in the 21st century

In the 2000s, Ortach continued not only to release his records with enviable stability, but also became famous as a presenter. He had his own TV show for three years - "With Serdar Ortach". In 2003, this show was recognized as the best TV program of the year.

Interestingly, ten years after the start of his career, in 2004, Ortach was able to repeat his own achievement - his seventh album "Cakra" ("Chakra"), like the first, became the annual sales leader.

In 2005, Ortac's book appeared in bookstores titled "Bu Sarkıllar Kimin Icin?" ("For whom are these songs?"), Where he published his poems, as well as memories of the past.

Then the famous singer released a number of quite interesting records - "Mesafe" (2006), "Nefes" (2008), "Kara Kedi" (2010), "Ray" (2012). To date, Ortach has 15 albums (and the total number of songs composed by Serdar has already exceeded 150). The latest album to date is called Cımbız (Tweezers), which was recorded in 2017.

It is worth adding that Ortac's vocals can also be heard on the discs of other Turkish performers - Sibel Cana, Muazzzez Abaji, Alishan, Ebru Gündes, etc.

Personal life

On June 6, 2014, an inveterate bachelor, Serdar Ortach, got married for the first time - Irish model Chloe Lounan became his wife. She, by the way, is 23 years younger than him.

Literally a month after the wedding, in the same 2014, it became known that Serdar Ortach was in the hospital and the doctors diagnosed the singer with multiple sclerosis. From this disease, he will now have to be treated for the rest of his life. Interestingly, a month after being hospitalized, Serdar returned to his usual concert activities - in early August 2014, he gave a concert in the resort town of Kadriye.
