Step 1
The city of Kharkov, like all other cities of Ukraine, has its own five-digit postal code. Its first two digits indicate the code of the locality (for Kharkiv it is 61), and the remaining three - the number of the corresponding post office. In Kharkov, the general postal code is 61000. The postal code of the Main Post Office, the main communication center, is 61001.

In Kharkov, and not only, according to the postal code, you can find the necessary post office, where you should receive parcels, transfers, pensions, benefits and other social benefits.

You can easily find your exact postcode on the Internet. To do this, just go to the website of the Ukrainian State Enterprise "Ukrposhta". The service located there allows you to find the zip code by city and street name. Go to the search page and first select the search mode by the location of the settlement. Then select the name of the region (Kharkiv) and the district (regional center). After that, enter at least 3 first letters in the name of the street of interest in Ukrainian.
Step 4
As a result of the search, the full name of the street and the corresponding postal code will be displayed. However, there are a lot of long streets in Kharkov, on which several post offices can be located at once. In this case, the search will show indexes linked to specific house numbers. There, by reference, you can find all the detailed information (address, map, phone number, opening hours) about the corresponding post office.

When you moved to an unfamiliar area of Kharkov or rented an apartment there, ask your neighbors for the address of the nearest post office. There they will tell you the zip code for your new home. Kharkiv post offices can also suggest an index for any street and house. Therefore, if you need to urgently send a letter or provide information about your postal code, also contact the mail.

When making out a letter or a parcel within Ukraine, remember that the index is always written last in the addresses of the sender and recipient. However, if a letter comes to Kharkiv from abroad, the name of the country must also be indicated after the index.
