At the end of 2012, producer and director Alexander Shein will begin filming a film-biography of Vladimir Mayakovsky. The film will feature Natalia Vodianova and the director's wife Chulpan Khamatova.

Step 1
The leading actor in the film about Vladimir Mayakovsky has not yet been determined. The director explains this by the fact that "I want to make a discovery, find an absolutely new hero, a fresh person." Someone prophesies for the role of Mayakovsky master of stage transformations Sergei Bezrukov. But for now, these are still rumors. Chulpan Khamatova will act in the film as a co-producer, and, as planned, will play the role of Lily Brick. Model Natalia Vodianova will embody the image of Mayakovsky's beloved Tatyana Yakovleva.
Step 2
The producer of the project, Sergei Chliyants, assessed the film's budget as quite large even on a European scale, but did not specify the figures. He mentioned that funds are needed for names and to create an atmosphere of the time of the Silver Age. He also stated that there was no state investment in the project, and the creative idea was realized thanks to the "private initiative of a rich man." Chilyants also noted that partners from Paris, Normandy, New York and Crimea promise to make the film more interesting than the picture would have been filmed without their participation.
Step 3
Alexander Shein explained that he plans to shoot a picture not about the great man Mayakovsky, but about the struggle of the soul. He is going to show his exciting story, adding to it details about love and spies, in order to "make it interesting to watch."
Step 4
As the producer of the film Sergey Chliyants noted, two people lived in Mayakovsky: one of them was a genius poet, the other was in search of God, love and the meaning of life. “The poet observes a person, conflicts arise between them. The result should be a fairly modern picture, today in Russia, alas, no films are made about a suffering person."
Step 5
According to the director, the script was written for a very long time - about five years, but now the project is already in the stage of active preparation and filming should begin at the end of this year. The release of the film is scheduled for 2014.
